BATTLE ROYALE VENTURE 1
BEFORE BATTLE ROYALE
For millennia, the Rift Nebula was left completely unprotected, the time loop successfully preventing anybody from taking over.
​
But when a mysterious organisation's attention is caught, that all changes...
The Rift Nebula. The Island is visible.
An all-powerful intergalactic organisation known as THE ORDER has the resources to mitigate the Island's defence systems, and takes control. They exploit the power of the Genesis Core whilst allowing the fighting on the surface to continue as a distraction.
Agent Jones, a field agent of The Order.
With an operation known as the Loopmaker Program, The Order begins to track and even partially control the movements of The Storm and the behaviour of The Loop.
​
The Order constructs and supplies important assets for battle, such as ITEM ORBS and the BATTLE BUS, whilst pulling the strings from their galactic base of operations.
EARLY VENTURE 1
During the first season of Battle Royale, The Loop is active as usual and The Order remains firmly in control.

Until the ground begins to shake.

SEASON 2: METRO
A trio of criminal outlaws known as THE UNDERGROUND burrow to the surface in drill tanks, setting up camps across The Island.
The Underground's "Fortress Drill"
The Underground's members are the first Loopers to ever successfully escape, by building air-tight suits pumped with powerful Rift Energy technology.

THE LOOPBREAKER
The leader of The Underground, and the first ever to escape The Loop.
THE LYNX
The tactician of The Underground, and the second to escape The Loop.
THE SCOUT
The environmental specialist of The Underground, and the third to escape The Loop.
The Order becomes aware of The Underground's rebellion and delegates the task of stopping them to their two best Field Agents: Jones and Slone.

Slone is Jones' superior, and the two are in a romantic relationship throughout Venture 1.
MEET THE ORDER'S TOP FIELD AGENTS
JONES
Goofy and kind-hearted, but incredibly skilled at his job... which is usually doing some not-so-great stuff.
SLONE
Cold and calculating, but a softie at heart. Very good at her job.
Jones uses the RIFT GATE to transport himself from The Order's Orbital Complex to The Island. His suit has advanced features that protect him from the effects of The Loop.
SEASON 3: EXOTIC
When exploring the opening to one of The Underground's subterranean networks, an unwitting archaeologist stumbles across an ancient curse, and unleashes a wave of EXOTIC GLIMMER across the Island.
As the weeks go by without any conflict resolution, The Order decides that Jones and Slone are not competent enough to wipe out The Underground and send re-enforcements in the massive OVERSHIP and a fleet of blimps.
While investigating the source of the Exotic Glimmer, The Loopbreaker is found by Agent Jones and shot, causing an escalation of conflict between the two parties and forcing The Loopbreaker to retreat into stasis for healing.
Disheartened by the ongoing chaos, Slone begins to have a change of heart, eventually deciding to betray The Order, teaming up with Loopers to infiltrate the Overship.
Meanwhile, the Overship powers up a powerful beam and obliterates the Exotic Glimmer.
Slone cuts communications with The Order, going rogue. She infiltrates the Overship, using her credentials and brute force to find her way to the cargo carrier.
Slone discovers and activates a Nuclear device intended to destroy Underground forces, blowing up the Overship and causing chunks of it to rain down onto The Island.
SEASON 4: ANARCHY
The Island is now completely at war and covered in debris and ruins. The Order and The Underground set up camps and deploy dangerous technology in their attempts for dominance in the battlefield, even weaponizing Battle Buses with turrets and cow catchers.
TORIN arrives on The Island and assumes control as leader of the resistance, using her powerful arcane arts to aid her in battle and strong mind to influence tactical decisions.

The leader of The Underground's resistance.
The GENESIS POINT is exposed.
A third faction quietly sets up operations on The Island: THE COMBINE set up a fortified base of operations and quietly monitor the battle, only defending themselves and not directly joining the fight.
As the weeks of battle drawl on, The Order constructs a Doomsday Machine to put an end to the war, for good.

Elsewhere, as a result of the serious damage to the foundations of The Island, the Genesis Core creates THE RING, a powerful barrier of defence.
The Order activates their Doomsday Device, which charges up and rips a hole in the bubble around The Island, threatening to cancel out the Loop and enact total chaos, as a hail mary.
The Lynx pilots a war-modified Battle Bus into battle, flying over the Island and preparing an attack on the Doomsday Machine. However, a nearby cannon shoots her down.
On the ground, Slone (now joined by Jones) fight off the ground forces. Jones defends the area whilst Slone breaks into The Underground's main base of operations.
Exploring the vast underground armoury, Slone grapples with the collapsing infrastructure as she fights her way to a launch pad on the bottom layer.
The Big Rig easily stomps over the ground forces, however a large war blimp fires a plasma orb directly into the ground above the Genesis Core, causing the terrain to collapse and destroying both the blimp and the Big Rig.
The launch pad activates the BIG RIG, a modified Truckasauras mech suit piloted by Torin.
The central area of The Island has now opened up into a crater, and an injured Jones is left to fight his way through the ruins. After blasting his way through some ground forces, he comes face-to-face with DR. GLYPH, his and Slone's former boss.

Jones re-affirms his betrayal and kills Dr. Glyph, while Torin brings the Big Rig back online.
​

The Big Rig fights through a series of blimps and reaches the Doomsday Device. After The Lynx takes the device's shields offline, the Big Rig readies its sword and strikes the Doomsday Device, causing it to explode and collapse.
​
The Order's Island Control Force has fallen.
SEASON 5: INVERSION
The Genesis Core sends out a series of GENESIS WAVES, causing irregulates across the Island, and the formation of the PURE FROSTS.
​
The Underground sends out a series of expeditions to retrieve a series of powerful crystals known as the NEXUS DIAMONDS from underground.
With The Island caved in, The Underground weak, and The Order's influence destroyed... the Genesis Core is left totally unprotected, and it destabilises.
Jones awakens The Loopbreaker from his stasis chamber, and after a brief confrontation, the two realise they are fighting for the same team and resolve to fix this crisis... while they still can.
With the Genesis Core threatening to destroy all existence, Jones sets out to re-stabilise it... but he's gonna need help.

Jones throws his Rift Gate Device into the Core, set to rift an old "friend" back to The Island.​

Elsewhere, Torin travels The Island and collects the unearthed Nexus Diamonds, absorbing their energy and transforming into an evolved form: NEXUS TORIN.
NEXUS TORIN
A powerful, enhanced form of Torin. Able to withstand the raw power of the Genesis Core.
The Island continues to destabilise rapidly, with constant Genesis Waves warping the landscape in unnatural ways and introducing alien biomes from alternate realities to the ecosystem.
While Torin's efforts are crucial, she needs somebody from the outside to seal off the Pure Core for good. The Loopbreaker forces Jones to use his Rift Gate Device to do so, leaving The Loopbreaker with the Core in the spire, and trapping Jones in the Loop.
SEASON 6: ZEN
Nexus Torin dives directly into a crack in the Genesis Core, causing rapid deterioration but allowing her to begin rebuilding the orb from the inside.
​
Using her newfound nexus powers, Torin pulls the Pure Core back into one piece, allowing the Genesis Core to begin healing and creating a chromatic stone spire that will protect the Core.
Elsewhere, new powers emerge. THE COMBINE set up bases of operations and assume de facto control over the Island, imprisoning Jones within the remains of The Underground's base.
​
In a newly formed iceberg biome, a frigid Ice King awakens and assumes control over his domain.
Whilst distracted by the Titan, Torin is unable to prevent The Combine from activating an orbital laser that smashes a hole open in The Island, creating an inter-dimensional gateway to a reality known as THE HALLOW.
​
By the time Torin knows what has happened, it's already too late, and The Hallow has corrupted a portion of the surface.
The Genesis Core is safely contained underground once more, and a new life has blossomed on The Island, with the ZEN TREE at its center.
​
Jones and Slone are now trapped within the Loop, however they retain their memories from before the events of the Zero Split crisis.
An underground TITAN awakens, disturbed by the Zero Split crisis, and hungers for energy. He attempts to absorb the energy of the Genesis Core, destroying the Zen Tree and briefly ripping the Core from within the spire, but is destroyed by the combined efforts of Nexus Torin, Slone, the Exotic Shimmer Guardian, and the Ice King.
THE GODMAKER
The Island must be destroyed. Whatever it takes.
The Combine's operation is revealed to be a front of the work of THE GODMAKER, an incredibly powerful entity with the sole aim of destroying The Island entirely.
SEASON 7: ISLANDBANE
With The Island corrupted and overrun with Hallow Fiends, JONES UNCHAINED breaks out of his cell and broadcasts a clear message to The Godmaker: he's coming, and he will destroy every fiend in his path.
JONES UNCHAINED
A man with a mission.
The Island is weakened over the coming months by the Hallow, which sets the stage for The Godmaker's plan: to destroy it, for good. The Godmaker takes over Timber Towers and constructs his new Doomsday Device.
With The Underground seriously outnumbered and their options slim, they produce their hail mary: REBOOT VANS, which will get Islanders away from the blast and revive those that may not make it.
Jones escapes in a Reboot Van and the Doomsday Device fires at the Genesis Core, blowing up The Island and ripping the Reality Bubble surrounding it apart.
Whilst The Underground meet and discuss their options, Jones ventures into a Combine base to rescue The Loopbreaker. The two team up once again, but The Loopbreaker warns that this fight won't go as well as taking down The Order's Island Force.
Jones confronts The Godmaker underground, who proclaims he is "not the bad guy" in this tale and powers up the Doomsday Device, bestowing a suit to Jones to protect him from the blast and telling Jones that destroying The Island entirely is the only way to end the Loop, regardless of who gets hurt in the process.
However, The Godmaker underestimated the strength of the Genesis Core, as it survived – but seriously fractured – and chunks of the Island are left floating in space.
SEASON 8: SPLIT
With the Island fractured, Jones dons the suit The Godmaker bestowed upon him, and hops across realities, rifting chunks of different worlds to try and re-build The Island piece-by-piece.

The Godmaker disappears after the destruction of The Island.
CYCLONE JONES
Look sharp, we're saving reality.
After weeks of collecting terrain fragments, The Island is stronger... but it isn't enough. The Genesis Core is still completely exposed and vulnerable, and Torin has a plan.
THE END OF VENTURE 1
Nexus-powered Torin prepares for fusion and flies directly into the exposed Genesis Core, leaving her fate unknown but successfully boosting the Core.
​
Slone, overrun by guilt for setting off this chain of events and to the horror of Jones, sacrifices herself to give the Core another boost.
The Genesis Core reboots, shuffling all of The Island's matter and re-forging it anew, marking the end of ​​Battle Royale Venture 1.
Jones, despite his grief, works with The Loopbreaker to use remnant nexus crystals from the Island's former flipside to generate enough power to re-create the Reality Bubble and form a new atmosphere.
