SAVE THE VERSE: AUGUST 2025 DEV UPDATE

Hey squad,

A few months have gone by since our last Save the Verse Development Blog. What's new? Well, we have exciting news, however we have an unfortunate note to share, first.

SAVE THE VERSE WILL NOW LAUNCH IN 2026

Save the Verse will now release in 2026.

We are sorry for adding additional time to what has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to develop the game with the level of polish you deserve. We're constantly iterating and adding new features, and we're very excited to share what's next:

JOIN ONLINE TEST 1 IN SEPTEMBER!

Online Test 1 is the first phase of the Alpha process for Snapshots: Save the Verse. During the month of September, we’re testing to make sure the basic gameplay loop is working, and we're looking to get player feedback on that. We’re also getting a baseline for how people play in order to make Save the Verse better.

It’s a little rough around the edges, and won't be a lengthy first experience, but we’re excited to hear feedback from real players on the general gameplay concepts and take this first step in bringing the Snapshots campaign to everyone.

If you'd like to join Online Test 1, you can apply by filling out this form. We'll be selecting a small number of players to join. There will be more Online Tests with a wider playerbase in the future, as we continue to integrate the systems that will make Save the Verse fun.

Deadline to apply to join Online Test 1 is September 10, 2025.

How are participants chosen?

Our player pool is chosen through a somewhat random system, however we aim to primarily let in trustworthy community members who we can entrust not to leak early footage.

This is an invite-only program on a username basis, so you will not be able to bring +1s. Not yet, anyway. Sorry!

How will I know if I get in?

When it’s time for you to join us, we’ll reach out to the email you provided when you registered for the Online Test. You will be invited to a private Discord server where additional important information will be given.

IMPORTANT: All emails will be sent from playsnapshots@gmail.com. If there are any issues with joining the private server, please respond and clearly explain the issue. DO NOT TRUST ANY EMAILS THAT COME FROM ANY OTHER ADDRESS.

Can I stream or upload my gameplay?

Not yet. Everyone playing right now is under NDA so players can’t talk about their experiences

or stream Save the Verse. This is to prevent leaks, but we'll lift this secrecy requirement in the future.

What platforms can I play Online Test 1 on?

It is recommended to play OT1 on PC, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, or Nintendo Switch 2. It is not recommended to play on mobile devices or Nintendo Switch.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

Save the Verse has slowed over the Summer as we shift a lot of resources over to developing high-quality Battle Royale seasons, however we're getting back on track as we enter the fall. We are not promising a 2025 launch date, however the first playable demo in Online Test 1 is a huge step forward for us.
