Hey tech nerds,
We're writing to report that Snapshots will be moving to a Data Layering system with v15.00 on October 3.

WHAT ARE DATA LAYERS?
Data Layers is a system within World Partition we will be using to organize actors both in the development editor and at runtime.
Using Data Layer Assets and Data Layer Instances, we can dynamically load and unload layers in the Editor to help manage complex worlds at runtime.
What this means: Starting in v15.00, Snapshots Battle Royale will load many of its game assets at runtime during the initial Loading phase.
As a result, you may notice that the loading cinematic is less smooth than in previous versions. It may stutter and visibly load assets during the first ~20 seconds of runtime.
This may appear off-putting but is, in reality, exactly what we want! By doing the brunt of the loading during this phase, there will be minimal impact on actual gameplay time. This means that we can focus on building more advanced, intricate world changes without the fear of memory limitations.
We'll be closely monitoring the impact of Data Layering on gameplay and performance and may tweak the system and make adjustments to the speed at which data assets are loaded and unloaded in future releases.
v15.00 will bring the launch of a new season which strives to be our most beautiful yet, so look forward to new gameplay and art improvements as a result of the new Data Layer system!
